Job Description

The Sr Principal Product Stewardship, North America will lead and drive strategic initiatives across Grace’s diverse portfolio. This person will be part of the Product Stewardship Leadership Team to oversee global product stewardship efforts, ensuring compliance, safety, and sustainability. The role offers the opportunity to collaborate with global teams, structure workflows, and lead the development of processes that drive product safety and regulatory compliance. There is autonomy to scope and shape projects, make critical decisions, and work cross-functionally to support innovation and compliance initiatives across the business. 


This is an opportunity for a hands-on leader who can bring expertise in product stewardship and work across multiple divisions and geographies to shape the future of the organization’s Product Stewardship efforts. 

Key Responsibilities Manage the America Product Stewardship initiatives and efforts Ensure substance/product regulatory compliance, hazard communication, product safety/product risk management across all business lines in the America region and globally Ensure Product Risk Management (PRM) process is used appropriately to mitigate risk especially in regulated end uses such as feed, food, pharmaceutical, food contact, etc. Ensure regulatory compliance of products and raw materials in the various geographies and use markets that W.R. Grace sells into Maintain proactive awareness of global emerging regulatory trends and effectively communicate business implications to business stakeholders and senior leadership Develop and drive execution of compliance strategies in response to new regulatory requirements and ensure business continuity Ensure product stewardship is integrated into key business processes  Continuously improve operational productivity of the Product Stewardship team through regular evaluations and updates of work processes, tools, organization and staffing strategy. Work with Product Stewardship organization to develop product stewardship team goals and ensure alignment with business strategy Lead product stewardship advocacy efforts in partnership with Government Affairs by building and maintaining effective partnerships with trade group and regulatory bodies in the US Serve as Product Stewardship counterpart for business acquisitions and integrations Communicate with government authorities as representative of the company when needed Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, or relevant field  15+ total years of experience, 5+ years of experience in product stewardship Experience leading global product stewardship/regulatory affairs teams, ideally in regulated end uses  Extensive knowledge of chemical regulatory requirements and industry standards, such as FDA, EPA, etc Success at integrating scientific, regulatory and legal risk considerations into effective action furthering business goals Experience developing, implementing and managing compliance programs and anticipating, communicating and managing regulatory changes Demonstrated leadership using strategic agility, operational excellence, communications and networking  Business acumen and knowledge of chemical industry required to partner with business leaders External focus on key social, political and regulatory forces, as well as internal focus on company growth and objectives Direct government and association advocacy experience Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance Life Insurance and Disability  Grace Wellness Program Flexible Workplace  Retirement Plans   401(k) Company Match – Dollar to dollar up to the first 6% Paid Vacation and Holidays Parental Leave (salaried only) Tuition Reimbursement  Company Donation Match Program
