Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr Principal Quality Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The position will be in Colorado Springs, CO. If you are up for a challenge on an exciting program with plenty of growth opportunities, come join us!

The successful candidate will provide Quality and Mission Assurance support for the JTAGS Program. The QMA Engineer will have responsibility for ensuring product, process, and supplier requirements are met while achieving high levels of quality, customer satisfaction, program execution, and on-time delivery.  The QMA Engineer will support all aspects of quality and mission assurance for the program.

Key Responsibilities:

Leading all quality processes for the program (e.g., audits, independent reviews, quality planning, quality documentation, vendors, parts, program corrective action tracking/reporting, program reporting)Quality representation in program baseline management activities (e.g., Milestone Reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRRs), CCB, peer reviews, code reviews, release planning, configuration management, CCB, test witnessing)Active participant in Program Management metrics, PMRs, IPRS, to include working with program team on making process improvements.Perform document, drawings, CDRLs, and supplier software reviews to ensure compliance to requirements and standards.Witness Test and Demos for verificationsGenerate program quality plan and report program Quality Metrics (e.g., IPRS, monthly reports)Support in the Program Risk & Opportunity Management Board (ROMB) and processes (e.g., monthly risk meetings, monthly risk reporting, PMRs, Risks)Perform Program & Supplier Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis and drive corrective actions to closure.Identify, lead, and participate in continuous improvement projects to improve quality, efficiency, customer satisfaction, and program profitability.Generate and maintain program’s AS9100 Rev D compliance matrix.

Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities below:

Sr. Principal Quality Engineer:

BS STEM degree plus 8+ years of experience (MS STEM degree 6 years of experience) in a quality assurance, mission assurance, or related engineering roleActive DoD Secret Clearance (Interim Secret is acceptable)Experience with ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management Systems environmentMust be able to multi-task and quickly adapt to change when issues ariseStrong interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with internal business/technical teams and external customersTravel as required (minimal) up to 10%Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action.Must be able to work on-site in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Preferred Qualifications:

ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or AS9100 Lead Auditor Trained/Certified.AGILE / SCRUM TEAM process experience & trainingProficient in Risk Management Tool such as ARM tool.

Salary Range: $113,500.00 - $170,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
