A role in Construction means leading the execution of store and distribution center projects. From large program rollouts to unique special projects, or large ground-up construction, you’ll help manage the scope, schedule, and budget for all Target construction projects, including adhering to the project timeline, coordinating and overseeing the onsite construction process and turnover. You’ll keep all the players and partners aligned with effective communication between vendors, general contractors, field leadership and project teams.
As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll take the lead as you develop and manage scopes, budgets, and schedules; as well as direct, supervise, and control the construction, fixture installation, and architecture and engineering design milestones for assigned projects or programs to meet established goals and objectives. Using your skills and experience, you will assist with all aspects of the process. By reviewing and analyzing contractor bids, you will make recommendations and approve subcontractor bids, conduct contract negotiations, review and approve changes to the contract and applications for payments, and close out all necessary contracts. You’ll conduct cross-functional meetings throughout the lifecycle of a project to monitor the activities and budgets of other departments that affect the project as well as ensuring that project milestones are being met. You will be responsible for project completion within approved budget which includes obtaining, reviewing, and maintaining the budget input from other documents. You will use your experience, knowledge and skillset to mentor and influence other team members. In this role, your key focus will be in ensuring successful project execution while maintaining Target’s quality standards. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.
About you:
Four-year degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture preferred
7+ years of experience in construction project management
Advanced knowledge of construction processes, industry standards and best practices
Familiarity with technical design of civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and material handling systems
Ability to lead and coordinate multiple projects and programmatic collateral duties with a key focus on estimating, budgeting and scheduling management
Strong communicator with ability to negotiate and resolve conflict
Highly self-motivated and committed to the development of high-quality work and productivity with strong organizational skills
Periodic project travel
This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as "Flex for Your Day") work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
