The primary responsibility of this position will be to ensure adequate testing of development code prior to release to production.The Sr QA Automation Engineer will work with team members to interface with internal and external technology teams. Your focus will be to build technical expertise in our applications and ensure adequate testing of development code prior to production release. Youwill focus primarily on automation and limited manual tasks. The ability to build technical relationships with Application Development staff is a strong requirement for this position.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the creation of test plans – including technical and business requirements and tool selectionIdentify risks and prepare mitigation plansAssist in development of Test Data StrategyWork with Business Analysts/Product Owner to ensure acceptance criteria are adequateCreate test cases according to standards – automated and manualPerform problem solving when defects occur in automated testsUpdate Jira according to standardEngage Application Development in defect resolutionComplete defect tracking and follow through to ensure completionParticipate in continuous improvement efforts within the QA Team and/or assigned Scrum TeamSupport and provide constructive feedback on existing processes and standardsEvaluate and recommend process or technical changesParticipate or lead test plan and test case reviews/peer reviews, providing direct feedback to other testing team membersUse positive influence to engage internal and external partnersWhat you have8+ years experience of automation software testing experience5+ years’ experience in Windows, Unix, Java, REST, Oracle, Selenium, JUnit, Cucumber, Gradle, Selenium, SwaggerExperience with Mongo, Postgres, Coherence, JiraSolid understanding of test repository or defect tracking systemsKnowledge of financial markets/operations background is a plusExcellent communication and organizational skills, team playerSolid understanding of the Software Development LifecycleAbility to resolve issues in a timely mannerAbility to prioritize workload in an efficient mannerEffective listening skillsProven ability to work effectively in a team setting as well as independently with minimal error and guidanceSense of urgency and commitment to providing the best support possible to both internal and external clients
