Job Description

Job Title: QC Technician

Location: Swindon

Position Summary:

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a QC Technician to join our hardworking team. Your role will involve several tasks in the Microbiology Quality Control Department to support our efforts in life sciences research and diagnostics.

Responsibilities:

Perform routine laboratory sampling and testing.Complete documentation to company standards.Make sure all work aligns with departmental procedures and cGMP.Meet testing lead times, barring unforeseen circumstances.Communicate optimally and proactively with site colleagues.Implement health and safety procedures for personal and team duties.Undertake additional tasks as the need arises.Apply cGMP in all areas of work and business.

Health & Safety:

Understand and follow emergency procedures and safe systems of work.Align with all EH&S requirements.Promote safety behaviours in the working environment.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above.Minimum of 2 A-Levels (or equivalent) in science-based subjects.Understanding of cGMP; training will be provided.Previous laboratory experience required.

Characteristics:

Ability to work to critical timelines.Effective interpersonal skills at all operational levels.Self-motivated and proactive.

Eh&s:

Understand and align with safe systems of work.Ensure compliance with EH&S rules, signage, and instructions.Report and investigate all accidents, near misses, and rule breaches promptly.
