Quality Engineering at HMH:

Here in HMH, Quality Engineering is a core function within all of our autonomous Agile teams. We have a highly collaborative, continuous delivery culture. This means, working on exciting modern automation tooling ( CodeceptJS with Playwright, RestAssured among others) and automation processes as well as acceptance testing (UI/API), performance and monitoring, metrics, etc

 

Responsibilities

Our focus is on high-quality software delivery – you will be part of an Agile team involved in planning, testing and developing test automation Work with our developers, delivery leads, UI/UX/Architecture teams, to deliver high-quality software in a continuous delivery environment (We have the ability to release several times a day, depending on the application) Write high-quality maintainable test automation code (It depends on the team or technology but, it could be written in JS or java for example) Testing functional and non-functional areas of an application Diligent with a strong focus on quality Strong time management and prioritization skills. Strong understanding of QE methodologies, tools, and processes.         Enhance your automation skills by extending our team's automated testing frameworks Ensure we have adequate test coverage, reliability, speed of execution and test data creation in a Continuous Delivery environment (Jenkins/Concourse CI build pipelines) Drive the quality agenda in your team – be an advocate of quality in your team, mentoring teammates always looking for ways to improve tools and process Build pipeline/Devops – we have our own internal DevOps enablement platform that allows teams to control their build pipelines and deployments Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.  

Skills & Experience:

6 to 10 years experience with both manual and automated testing. Strong understanding of QA processes including test plan preparation, Testcase development and execution Solid programming experience (4 years or more) with a language such as Java, Javascript, Python or similar Strong Experience with SQL and DB Testing Experience with source control tools like Github, Bitbucket A strong understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery concepts Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and microservice architectures. Strong experience testing microservices, REST services, database and user interfaces. Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.  A strong problem-solving attitude with the ability to address challenges creatively.  Quick learner with the ability to adapt to changing environments.  Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

Experience with developing a test strategy or test approach Experience with developing CI/CD pipelines using a CI provider such as Jenkins/Concourse/Github Actions/Copilot Experience with contract testing using a framework such as Pactflow Exposure to A11Y Testing, BrowserStack, AI, Cloud Platform

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science OR equivalent work experience
