What we need:

The Sr R&D Technician works to provide a variety of support such as performing lab and quality control tests as well as inspecting product samples. This role will be responsible for executing experiments, maintaining lab equipment, and collaborating with the R&D team to achieve project objectives.The technician will specifically work on a polymerization line, handling chemicals and operating machinery to ensure smooth and efficient production. The position requires adherence to safety protocols and may involve troubleshooting equipment and chemical processes to optimize polymerization procedures.

 

What you’ll do:

Perform a variety of established lab tests, including performs quality control tests of raw materials, stains, and stain mixes. Inspect product samples to ensure quality standards are met. Lead control tests. Document inspection results. Monitor equipment or processes and report problems to supervisor. Drive a lift truck to receive and transfer raw materials. Follow standard operating procedures. Ensure proper working conditions of equipment to ensure quality standards are met. Keep area safe, clean, and organized. Lead and/or train R&D Lab Technicians. Performs other duties as needed.

 

What you have:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. 0-2 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Able to set up, run and/or interpret results from a wide variety of laboratory test equipment.

 

What you’re good at:

Applies conceptual knowledge of the theories, practices, and procedures within a discipline. Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills. Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively. High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data. Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.

 

What else?

This position will be based in Dalton, Georgia but work at multiple sites. The employee will be required to travel to additional facilities within driving distance as part of their regular duties. No overnight travel is required
