Job Purpose
Provide regulatory expertise for all company projects and new company acquisitions. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure all products and ingredients meet or exceed relevant regulations and standards, maintaining product integrity and mitigating risk to the organization. Actively seek continuous improvement opportunities to support the organization from a regulatory standpoint.
Essential Functions
+ Create and implement organizational policies, standards, and procedures to comply with applicable regulations; ensure all relevant stakeholders are informed
+ Provide support when integrating new company acquisitions from a regulatory and labeling perspective
+ Lead regulatory projects as needed (NLEA update, Bioengineering, etc.)
+ Verify new or changed finished product specifications to ensure compliance to regulations and accuracy
+ Conduct comprehensive final review of finished product labeling/nutritional information and technical documents
+ Develop and update precise finished product specifications; perform verification of finished product specifications created by the regulatory team
+ Develop and update precise finished product case label copy and label templates as needed
+ Provide label and claim expertise for all facilities as needed
+ Partner with commercialization teams and Regulatory Packaging Process Manager to provide label guidance/review, nutritional information, and finished product specifications
+ Maintain raw material data in regulatory systems (Genesis, SAP) to ensure accurate product specifications
+ Review new ingredient/ingredient substitution requests for compliance to nutritional and ingredient statements
+ Provide business teams with answers to product and package compliance-related questions and provide creative compliance options
+ Approve and maintain supplier documentation via supplier software (TraceGains)
+ Ensure compliance with centralized administrative functions (iCix, Amigos, One World Sync, Repositrac, Aspects, etc.)
+ Provide expertise when completing and providing documentation for customer requests
+ Maintain log of customer requirements
+ Communicate with private label customers to resolve regulatory and labeling concerns as needed
+ Maintain accurate knowledge base of existing and emerging regulations, standards, and guidance documents
+ Recommend changes to company procedures in response to changes in regulations or standards
+ Develop and conduct effective employee regulatory training
+ Assist facility quality leaders with closure of customer complaints, root cause analysis, and closure of regulatory findings as needed
+ Assist with regulatory audits at the facilities as needed
+ Assist with recall or market withdrawal activities as needed
+ Provide guidance on food safety program, quality standards, and legality of manufactured products
+ Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)
+ Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or other applicable field of study
+ 5+ years of manufactured food regulatory experience
+ Understanding of U.S. labeling laws (food additives, nutrition, claims)
+ Proficient knowledge of labeling and regulatory compliance
+ Experience using SAP and Genesis software to create specification sheets
+ Intermediate level computer skills: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail
+ Ability to understand changes to regulatory laws and how those changes impact the company
+ Investigative, continuous improvement, problem-solving mindset with ability to recommend effective decisions
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $65,000 to $85,000 annually. Pay is based upon several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. Rise Baking Company complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your annual salary, Rise Baking Company offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, annual bonus eligibility, incentive and recognition programs and 401k contributions (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
