Sr Relationship Advisor

The Sr. Relationship Advisor II is responsible for managing primarily complex wealth management fiduciary and agency relationships while delivering high quality fiduciary and client services and ongoing outreach for new business. Partner assumes responsibility for overall client satisfaction as the Relationship Advisor by collaborating with the service team and appropriate NT resources to ensure timely delivery of high-quality account service, issue resolution, effective communication of client needs to partners, and development of overall advisory relationship with client. Leverages deep legal and fiduciary expertise to deliver management and oversight of complex fiduciary relationships.  Actively involved in new business efforts by cultivating COIs and ongoing involvement with prospective clients.

Major Duties:

Manages assigned account base of highly sophisticated wealth management and trust relationships by working with clients and their professional advisors to develop a thorough understanding of the clients’ needs and goals. Exhibits thorough knowledge of governing documents and account agreements. Exhibits depth of knowledge of fiduciary duties and applicable laws, including trust and tax law, estate planning techniques, financial planning, asset management and prudent investment principles. Exhibits mastery in knowledge of Advisory Practice services/offerings (including estate and financial planning), capital markets, banking products/offerings, asset management and prudent investment principles. Seeks continued development of fiduciary and advisory skills through ongoing continuing education. Builds and maintains knowledge of NT fiduciary standards and practices, applies fiduciary knowledge and judgment to fiduciary relationships. Understands and complies with internal policies, processes, and procedures to effect prudent risk management and judgment. Recognizes fiduciary risk issues and seeks appropriate resolution.  

Guides client conversations for goals driven wealth management and holistic advice. Provides sophisticated proactive advice to clients on NT’s products/services, emerging issues, regulatory/tax changes, and appropriate actions for the client. Combines technical expertise with fact finding and analysis to develop deep advice-driven solutions for clients. Explains complicated concepts to clients in a thoughtful way using non-technical terminology.

Actively cultivates relationships with referral sources and centers of influence to build the business; identifies and develops new business opportunities. Participates in community and professional organizations representing NT. Identifies opportunities to showcase NT expertise and thought leadership. Regularly involved with prospect and new client opportunities.

Maintains a thorough knowledge of various NT resources and utilizes knowledge, experience and NT resources to identify opportunities for relationship enhancement.

Focused client service with responsiveness, diplomacy and tact; proactive client contact through written and verbal communication with suitable frequency. Exhibits excellent time management skills.

Uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement and identify innovative solutions.

Carries out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues.

Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity.

Teaches and mentors less experienced partners. Provides leadership on fiduciary products and committees.

Travels to meet with clients where appropriate considering revenue, new business opportunities, or servicing requirements.

Seeks continued development of fiduciary and advisory skills through training and experience.

Focus of role is on execution of strategic direction of business function activities.


Knowledge:

Extensive knowledge of fiduciary standards, principles, and applicable laws and regulations usually acquired through training, seminars, or continuing education seminars is required to administer accounts Extensive knowledge of financial products and services, usually acquired through related work experience, is required to manage complex client accountsExtensive technical knowledge of investments, tax, legal, and operations usually acquired through formal education or related experience is required to service clientsSkills in negotiating, problem solving, delegating, leadership, and sales are necessary to service the client relationshipInterprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or servicesLeadership and organizational skills are required to determine the Business Unit's goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of staff.

Experience:

A College or University degree and advanced degree (JD, MBA, CPA) is required. Advanced certification (CFP, CPWA) strongly preferred.A minimum of 12-15 years of experience in trust administration, estate administration, estate planning, relationship management, or related fields is preferred.
