**Lab support service**
Material management
+ Staging and receiving of customer inventory
+ Physical movement of inventory requires the ability to consistently lift upwards of 40lbs.
+ Systematically move locations of inventory on SAP software in accordance with customer standards.
**Buffer, Media and Gel Preparations**
+ Buffer making up to approximately three buffers daily and in accordance with customer SOPs.
+ Media making up to approximately 500 liters weekly in accordance with customer SOPs.
+ Gel making in accordance with customer SOPs.
**Equipment maintenance and service support**
+ Servicing and general maintenance of equipment.
+ Scheduled twenty-four-hour availability to resolve equipment-related alerts after-hours onsite.
+ Coordination and collection of equipment to be sent for maintenance to outside vendors.
+ Escorting vendors on premises to provide additional contracted services (laundry, gases, waste collection, dry ice, etc.).
+ Removing of lab waste and staging for pickup by vendors.
+ Environmental health and safety preventative monthly maintenance checks and services.
**Essential Functions**
+ Assists with data collection, report generation, and site metric development in support of contractual obligations and standard process methodologies.
+ Follow well-defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOPs & work instructions. Take direction from Site Supervisor/Manager (and Team Lead) regarding daily duties.
+ Independently makes decisions and uses available resources to meet customer requirements.
+ Demonstrates proficiency at gathering and communicating job or site-specific performance metrics.
+ Communicates to leadership any customer issues or potential problems.
+ Promotes personal growth and development by staying updated on new policies and improvements without the presence of site trainer and management team.
+ Listens to customer concerns, effectively diffuses dissatisfaction, and quickly identifies a course of action with a goal of first call resolution within established turnaround times.
+ Works effectively with a diverse cross-functional team.
+ Adopts Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies.
+ Accesses and uses Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Intranet and SharePoint document management system.
+ Always represents Thermo Fisher Scientific in a positive light throughout customer locations.
**Education**
High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
**Experience**
2 years of related experience within a laboratory setting is preferred. Experience working in customer service is also a plus.
**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**
+ Able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills, and desire to deliver excellent customer service. This includes maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor in all interactions and upholding Thermo Fisher Scientific's values, including confidentiality.
+ Possesses a strong desire to serve the customer, and the interpersonal skills to collaborate with various levels of personnel at the customer site.
+ Independently operates handheld scanners to enter data in various systems as needed; as well as analytical skills to reconcile reports.
+ Demonstrates computer proficiency and possesses intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software. Uses organizational skills to multi-task and meet due dates as needed.
+ Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
**Physical Requirements / Work Environment**
Works primarily at customer sites, which may require independent work. Work areas may include spaces where chemical-based allergens are in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc).
Depending on the area of the building, personal protective equipment may be worn, including lab coats, coveralls, hoods, facemasks, hairnets, safety gloves, steel-toe shoes (required for all colleagues), bump hats, and/or safety glasses.
- Regularly required to lift 30 - 40lbs, and up to 50lbs occasionally.
+ Regularly use equipment including pushcarts, pallet jacks, etc. to push/pull up to 100lbs.
+ Regularly required to stand, walk and conduct manual material handling (twisting, bending, reaching, lifting, etc.) for prolonged periods.
+ Ability to work in environments with varied temperatures (cold rooms, outside, etc.)
+ Ability to work overtime, as needed.

**Compensation and Benefits**
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $19.64–$29.45.
