The Senior Socio-Therapist (ST)  role is to provide shadowing for new ST hired, support to the team as well as support in the absence of the Supervisor. A Senior Socio-therapist will be responsible for supporting TST work groups alongside the Supervisor and becoming a TST Expert, in addition to Socio-Therapist role and responsibilities listed below.

 

Salary Range: $58,905-$66,205/year

Responsibilities

A Senior Socio-therapist will be responsible for supporting TST work groups alongside the Supervisor and becoming a TST Expert, in addition to Socio-Therapist role and responsibilities listed below.

 

Core Responsibilities:

Engage with foster parents and foster youth using motivational interviewing techniques and assess for safety and risk factors for children currently in care while planning for permanency.Provide intensive training, consultation, and supportive services to youth with identified Axis V diagnosis. Provide crisis intervention services wen needed to develop a safety plan to deescalate conflicts in a trauma-informed approachSupport foster parents by creating a treatment plan centered around the TST modality and utilizing different interventions.Develop and reinforce behavior modifications techniques and interventions to achieve stability for the youth in the foster home and community.Collaborate with outside agencies such as schools, hospitals, treatment facilities/Centers and community providers regarding youth's services to ensure goals are aligned.Attend team meetings, interdisciplinary treatment team conferences, TST workshops,  case consultations and individual and group coachingTrack and Monitor youth progress when youth attend outside clinics to ensure NYF receives all updates on youth's medications, treatments, and reports. Provide close monitoring of medications (Pill count) and inform MH of the results .  Conduct weekly home visits to foster parent and youth (total of 4 visits a month). Planning and engaging youth in therapeutic  recreational and social activities.

Salary Range: $58,905-$66,205/year

Qualifications

Requirements:

BA/MA in Psychology, Sociology or related field.  BSW or MSW with 1-2 years child welfare experience preferred.

Other Requirements/Preferences:

Knowledge of community resources and ability to effectively negotiate systems for multi-problem familiesExperience with drug treatment populations preferredBilingual Spanish/English preferredTyping skills and computer literacy required.Excellent interpersonal skillsDemonstrated strong commitment to safety.
