This position is responsible for a variety of complex, high level software engineering operations. Uses advanced knowledge of software engineering discipline, processes, and tools to complete and ensure compliance of various project subtasks. Interacts with internal and external customers to facilitate the completion of products to customer specifications. Will develop and define engineering processes. Mentors lower-level Engineers. Recognized as a subject matter expert in the field of Software Engineering.

Duties and Responsibilities\rPerforms requirements gathering, application & architecture design, implementation, develop, coding, debugging, testing, troubleshooting, and providing support throughout the application development process.Regularly offers solutions to significant technical problems.Applies expertise in software engineering principles, technologies, methods, tools, and processes, to eliminate barriers to successful project completion.Analyzes existing information systems and applications to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements.Participates in the evaluation and selection process for new application packages, as needed.Defines development guidelines and standards to be utilized in software development /integration including developing custom integration solutions with major enhancements, interfaces, functions, and features.Generates and may approve software documentation and performs requirements-based verification and validation testing of software to assure all requirements are met.You Must Have\rBachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other equivalent ABET accredited Engineering program.6+ years of experienceAbility to travel up to 20% of the time Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the businessRegular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this jobUnited States CitizenshipAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)We Value\rTS/SCIExperience or willingness to develop software for small-scale microcontrollersExperience or willingness to develop software for RTOS-based systemsExperience or willingness to develop lightweight web-based applicationsExperience in aerospace, automotive, medical or industry withstrong emphasis on safety andrigorous quality standardsOr,requirements-based verificationOr, writing unit testsOr, automated system testingOr, Hardware In the Loop environments(HIL, HWIL)Experience or willingness to develop an understanding of Agile or Lean/Six SigmaStrong understanding ofthe most common software design patternsDemonstrated experience working from a vague statement of needs from customers.Ability to provide technical guidance, mentoring, consultative services, and innovative solutions.
