Your Role at Baxter

Provides technical contribution within the software engineering discipline to lead requirement, analysis, detailed design and verification activities for an assigned product, project or solution.  Provides guidance to other engineers on their technical issues, engages in design reviews and help resolves problems of medium complexity.

 

What you'll be doing

Defines software architecture and requirements for new product development projects.Develops embedded control system software in the C and/or C++ languages to interact with Inputs/Outputs of microprocessors. Provide technical expertise to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis on software issues that are reported during verification.Resolve software issues by implementing changes and performing developmental testing. Identifies technical problems, provides innovative, creative solutions; shares technical knowledge with team.Incorporates business, market, industry and competitive knowledge into technical solutions that can be readily adapted to changes in technology and/or clinical use.Generates alternatives and takes reasonable risks while solving technical problems.Completes detailed, high quality technical documentation to capture and communicate designs.Seeks knowledge of the business, market, industry and competitive environment.Uses existing tools and best practices to report and track product and process metrics.Challenges project teams and established work processes and proactively finds creative methods to reach desired performance levelsInforms others proactively about developments or issues that affect their work, and their ability to meet commitments.Other duties may be assigned.

 

UNIQUE QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Fluent in C/C++ programmingExperience with software development on a Linux platformExperience in embedded control systemsExpertise with Git and Jira software toolsMedical Device Industry experienceAbility to generate alternative solutions to problems or processes.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environmentAbility to adapt to change.Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering related field of study such as Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or local equivalent of same. 3+ years of relevant experience

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $96,000 to $13,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
