Position summary

T-Mobile is America’s supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Sr. Solutions Engineers, Wireless located in Concord, CA will partner with business sales teams to support the development of voice, data, and solution products and sell T-Mobile for Business products and services by leveraging their strong technical skills, experience, and industry knowledge.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Engage in pre-sales activities by consulting on customer opportunities to gain understanding of their business, identify their business challenges, and develop solutions which meet their needs.

Architect and designs solutions utilizing T-Mobile or partner business solutions, equipment, and network.

Provide technical support in sales presentations, product demonstrations, as well as providing answers to customer's technical inquiries.

Support Business Sales by reviewing specific customer opportunities and sales funnels.

Keep the business sales teams apprised of relevant technologies and industry trends.

Provide expert knowledge on data products and services offered by T-Mobile through the Business Sales channel.

Partner with Marketing, Product, and RF Engineering in support of network development efforts, alpha and beta evaluation tests, as well as new product rollouts.

Partner with Marketing, Sales Ops, and Care teams to provide feedback, support special projects, and engage in market-level opportunities and maintain their technical skills and industry expertise by participating in internal and external training opportunities.

Understand and present T-Mobile wireless network and related key technologies, maintain expertlevel knowledge of wireless handsets, mobile hotspots, tablets, and key wireless devices and maintain expert-level knowledge of wireless-related Value-Added Solutions.

Facilitate wireless network coverage analysis and discuss and assist with processing In-Building Coverage requests.

Understand and present product roadmaps and network coverage/network build-out plans.

Assist with post-sale support and escalations.

Direct high-level portfolio awareness of T-Mobile Global Wireless Solutions network, solutions, and technologies.

Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance.

Skill requirements:

Working on wireless technologies including 3G/UMTS, LTE, 5G (NSA & SA), WiFi, IoT (NBIoT, CatM) and carrier grade LTE & 5G Voice and Video technologies including VoLTE/ViLTE and VoNR/ViNR.

Utilizing Agilent E6474A & TEMS Investigation 13.0.1 RF measurement tool for signal/site verification & PCTEL Scanner for IRAT/IFHO and cluster drives for insights on the coverage and quality of service.

Utilizing different test plans (Voice/Data/Video) for Device/Handset Certification using QXDM, Spirent’s Umetrix (Nomad, Datum & Chromatic) solutions, CMU200 & CMW500 for voice degraded testing in the Lab and acting as a liaison between OEM’s and Carrier teams for monitoring the progress and maintaining the partnership.

Analyzing packet logs using Wireshark & Microsoft Net Monitor (Analysis tools) for network throughput related issues and collaborating with Engineering teams on solution proposal to the customer.

Working with vendors and partners on installation of iDAS/Small Cell/Repeater/Neutral Host solutions, reviewing the iBwave design files for RF propagation, and coordinating with internal PM’s and Regional market on operationalizing the project.

Leading and analyzing the RFP/RFQ to understand client technical requirements and determine the deliverables, collaborating with other internal teams to submit the final response within the given deadline.

Experience and education requirements:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Telecommunications Management or related, and 5 years of relevant work experience.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Management or related, and 7 years of relevant work experience.

OTHER:  Work hours: 40 hours/week. California Pay Range: $182,187- $253,600/year.

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience.
