Roles and Responsibilities
Proactive development of supplier quality and manufacturing capabilities and performance by leveraging APQP tools to proactively identify and mitigate risk before it manifests into a quality defectDrive improved supplier performance through launch and execution of supplier Quality Improvement Plans to (1) reduce quality escapes, (2) reduce manufactured defects, and (3) improve additional metrics such as corrective action cycle times, design change incorporation cycle time, etcDrive APQP and AS13100 into the supply base, in order to transform the quality capabilities of the commodity.Utilize FLIGHT DECK and its lean tools as the primary method to solve problems and manage performance of the commodityLead critical problem solving efforts for supplier escapesDevelop competencies of the Supplier Quality team, in order to continually improve technical capabilities of the team to (1) understand and relate to the product from a design technology perspective; (2) understand and relate to GD&T and technical standards typically found on prints and standards for the product; (3) understand and relate to the commodity's typical manufacturing and metrology processes from a manufacturing engineering perspective; and (4) improve understanding of critical quality tools required to analyze a supplier's process (MSA, GR&R, SPC, Statistics, etc)Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Sourcing & Supplier Quality Engineering)At least 5 years of experience in Sourcing & Supplier Quality EngineeringDesired Characteristics
