Sr Spec, Aircraft Maintenance
Job Title: Sr. Spec. Aircraft Maintenance (Sr. Lead Mechanic) Position Location: Tucson, AZ Summary: Oversees and manages onsite aircraft and equipment scheduled/unscheduled maintenance, and servicing. Supervises,or assigns a designated representative, repairs to aircraft and system components, and engine repairs to ensure that site aircraft are in good mechanical condition and safe for flight. Ensures the contractual required FAA maintenance requirements/standards are maintained and releases aircraft for flight. The Maintenance Supervisors responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Schedule maintenance and inspections per the Original Equipment Manufacturer technical data. • Ensures site personnel meet and maintain assigned training and certification requirements. • Determines corrective action when advised of deficiencies affecting aircraft airworthiness. • Ensures scheduled and unscheduled inspections in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM)established procedures/specifications. • Oversees/reviews aircraft maintenance records and historical documents entries. • Monitors/reviews deficiency reports for adverse trends. • Monitors in-progress and follow-up inspections during and upon completion of maintenance actions. • Responsible for ensuring employees maintain common hand tools and special tools in a safe and serviceable condition. • Responsible for site, customer and company tool accountability procedures to include reporting unserviceable tools and equipment to appropriate responsible party. • Ensures established policies/procedures and standards are properly complied with. • Responsible for site compliance with all safety, environmental, security and housekeeping standards. • Assists in training newly assigned personnel as required. • Operates vehicles, both special purpose and regular as authorized. • Accountable for good housekeeping practices, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention and safety at all times with siteassigned areas. • Assists assigned personnel in researching and requisitioning aircraft parts and components and in determining the reparability and serviceability of these assets. • Monitors bench stock items and tool inventory inspections. • Actively participates in the Safety Program. • Discusses discrepancies with aircrews to ensure adequate troubleshooting information and flight data • Other related duties as required to support contract and mission requirements • Responsible for strict compliance with all required Communications Security (COMSEC) policies and procedures. • Obtains quotations from outside repair facilities for components/equipment that cannot be repaired or maintained inhouse. • Recommends procedure changes to improve maintainability of aircraft and required inspections. • Consults manufacturers' manuals for specifications and determines feasibility of repair or replacement. Position Requirements: Must be able to work day shift, night shift and weekend duty and travel as part of maintenance recovery team as required. Must qualify for CONUS and OCONUS deployments if be required. Must be able to work in the established work/living environment, work 7 days a week, 12 hour shifts as assigned to support mission requirements. The job classification requires an FAA aircraft airframe and engine powerplant (A&P) certification, and a FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) is preferred. The classification also requires documented record of management and supervision of same organizations and functions described above. Work experience on Gulfstream, Global Jet, or business jet airframes and Rolls Royce associated turbofan engines highly desired. Must meet all physical requirements associated for deployment OCONUS and CRC. Must qualify and be able to maintain DOD SECRET security clearance.
