Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, AMS E&S is seeking an experienced engineer in the following areas: Receiver Exciter, RF/Microwave design and Digital Technology. The Sr. Staff RF Engineer role is focused on RF/Microwave Design and Analysis – Hardware subsystem (Antenna) Tech Lead

Responsibilities may include development of antenna architectures, receiver / exciter architectures, requirements generation/flow down; subsystem analysis including hardware from RF to digits, performance modeling, support for performance testing, requirements verification, and more.  Work is performed without appreciable direction and exercising considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments, including:

Interface between classified and unclassified teams to keep the development efforts aligned.Lead the overall design and development effort.Interface with the chief engineers on other programs to ensure that mutual benefit without duplication of effort.Attend design reviews and weekly meetings, contributing experience and insight to ensure success on experiments.Visit and coordinate with team members who work at other sites.Deliver efficient and effective communication of design and architecture to hardware and software design engineers.Mentor and engineers and other staff members.

This role is contingent upon maintaining a Secret Clearance and obtaining SAP clearance.

Basic Qualification Sr. Staff RF Microwave Design Engineer:

Must hold a Secret or Top-Secret security clearanceMust have a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related discipline with 14 years of experience in the areas described in the job description or Masters Degree with 12 years of experience or PhD with 10 years of experience. An additional 4 years of experience on lieu of degree.Experience in Antenna/RF Performance AnalysisHardware antenna Tech lead should have a demonstrated ability in technical and team leadership overseeing engineers with experience at least at the Staff level.Strong knowledge using MATLABStrong knowledge of processing large amounts of dataStrong understanding of AESA / phased array, Radar, SIGINT, or SATCOM sensorsBe able to delegate, task and oversee the work of junior RF engineers

In addition, this candidate should have demonstrated technical ability/leadership and expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Active electronically scanned arrays (AESAs)Highly integrated subsystems including antenna hardwareReflectors, Reflect Arrays, Digital Beam FormingAntenna/RF Performance AnalysisComputational Electromagnetics, StatisticsExpertise in Antenna Measurements and Data Reduction, including RF budget analysis and performance evaluationStrong MATLAB programming skills, with ability to develop scripts and function for big data processing and analysisExperience with Atlassian Tool Suite, GitSubsystem requirements (hardware and software) derivation, flow-down, and configurationDocumentation experience, generating test procedures, test reports, RF requirements, data analysis, data presentationData ProcessingPerformance ModelingSupport performance testing, requirements verification and more.Subsystem integration, test, and system integrationConducting Test Readiness Reviews (TRR)

Salary Range: $179,600.00 - $269,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
