Responsibilities The Sr Strategic Sourcing Buyer plays a crucial role in our organization, responsible for procuring materials, equipment, and services for construction projects. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of the construction industry. The ideal candidate will work closely with project managers, suppliers, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality standards. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in vendor management within the construction industry. *Must be located in the Miami, FL market - this position is hybrid Key Objectives: Optimize procurement processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and contractors. Ensure timely delivery of materials and services to construction sites. Collaborate with project teams to anticipate and meet procurement needs. Implement and maintain procurement policies and procedures. Stay informed about market trends and industry best practices. Responsibilities: Develop and execute procurement strategies for construction projects. Prepare and issue requests for quotations (RFQs) and requests for proposals (RFPs). Evaluate bids and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors. Create and maintain a database of qualified suppliers and contractors. Monitor market conditions and analyze price trends for construction materials. Coordinate with project managers to determine material and service requirements. Manage the procurement schedule to align with project timelines. Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards. Resolve issues related to product quality, delivery delays, or contract disputes. Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier performance. Participate in value engineering efforts to identify cost-saving opportunities. Assist in developing and managing procurement budgets. Coordinate logistics and deliveries with suppliers and construction sites. Conduct regular performance evaluations of suppliers and contractors. Collaborate with accounting department to process invoices and payments. Other job duties as assigned Qualifications Education & Experience required: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the construction industry. Proven track record of successful contract negotiations and cost savings. Strong understanding of construction materials, equipment, and industry standards. Proficiency in procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Preferred skills: Unquestioned ethics and integrity. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize projects, and multi-task to meet deadlines and changing business needs and deadlines. Constantly striving for simplicity and showing creativity, innovation, and strong business judgment. Connects well with others and a highly collaborative team approach to work. Ability to handle difficult situations with a high degree of diplomacy and composure.
