Sr System Engineer - JAMF

We currently have an exciting opportunity for Sr System Engineer to join our Tailored Technology team. This individual will manage and support the end user devices and applications in the environment. What you’ll do JAMF Responsibilities: Core configuration of the JAMF platform, including integrations with Apple VPP, Apple DEP, Okta, and Microsoft Entra. Health monitoring through inventories and logs. Platform update testing and user management. Required application installations and enforcement (e.g., CrowdStrike, Rapid7). JAMF Connect configuration and management. Software/application management, including custom app packaging and deployment. Management of restricted applications/software and software updates/patching. Mac OS Management: Policies and configurations based on Mac OS versions, including OS minor and major updates. Enrollment configurations, such as zero-touch enrollments and prestage enrollments. Management of user and device groups, and Tailored Brands JAMF branding. Certificate management, including creating and managing JAMF packages, scripts, and reports. JAMF platform license management and support incident management. Researching best practices for managing JAMF and MacOS devices in an enterprise environment. Apple Business Manager: Administration and management of Apple Business Manager. Other MacOS Responsibilities: Tier 3 support for MacOS users/devices. Recommendations for Mac hardware standards based on business needs. Reviewing Mac-related incidents to find common issues and develop solutions. Creating and updating knowledge base articles for user processes and IT support. Researching new OS releases and evaluating their impact on the environment. Acting as a subject matter expert on all things MacOS related. iOS and Ivanti EPMM Responsibilities: Enroll in and manage Apple programs such as Apple Business Manager (ABM) and the Apple Developer Program. Configure Ivanti EPMM to manage iOS devices, including adding EPMM as the MDM server and creating MDM profiles. Oversee the automated and manual enrollment of iOS devices using Apple Device Enrollment. Develop and implement managed app configuration policies to control and distribute apps on iOS devices. Monitor and maintain the security of iOS devices, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for iOS device issues. Collaborate with IT and security teams to integrate iOS devices with existing systems and infrastructure. Conduct regular audits and assessments of iOS device usage and security. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in mobile technology and MDM solutions. Other Responsibilities Evaluate and Test: Assess hardware and software platforms to ensure optimal performance. Device Management: Utilize MDM tools to manage other devices such as Chromebooks, printers, and Microsoft Windows devices. Scripting: Develop and implement PowerShell or other scripts to automate tasks and improve efficiency. Training and Coordination: Conduct user and support training sessions, and assist Desktop Support with troubleshooting issues. Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for Service Desk and End-User Support Teams. Best Practices: Develop, communicate, and implement best practices and procedures. Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients to provide excellent service. Project Updates: Provide timely updates and status reports on ongoing projects. Helpdesk Proficiency: Maintain proficiency in helpdesk systems and tools to support users effectively. Specifications and Updates: Create detailed specifications and provide product updates. Research and Education: Advise on the latest technologies and best practices to enhance system performance. What you’ll bring 8+ years of overall IT experience 6+ years’ experience in a desktop engineering/admin role responsible for Mac OS device management, image and patch management, software packaging and deployment 3+ years’ experience administering collaboration tools. I.e. - Outlook, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Quip, Workplace, Slack, Dropbox, Google Docs, or any other Project Management tool in an Enterprise environment with more than 1,000 users Extensive scripting knowledge Experience administering a Mobile Device Management system preferred. Working knowledge of Active Directory administration and policy management Strong customer service skills and adapt to servicing a varied customer base. Demonstrated project ownership, and ability to drive outcomes from inception until full business value realized. Ability to stay on task and complete projects in a timely manner. Understand global concepts, see the “bigger picture” and recommend solutions accordingly. Working knowledge of major manufacture hardware systems such as Apple, Dell or Lenovo Able to communicate effectively (written and oral) with team members and management. Ability to work with minimum supervision or independently. The starting salary for this position is $92,800 – $142,300 and may increase to $155,000 depending on merit, length of service with the Company, and other factors. We take into consideration an individual’s skills, background, and experience in determining final salary. Other compensation may include a 10% Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) bonus paid out according to policy. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
