LOCATION: Pittsford, NY or Framingham-Atlanta, GA
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•\tResearch, analyze, write, organize, edit, and proofread technical data for various documents, including application guides, installation instructions, troubleshooting manuals, online help systems, and release notes.
•\tActively participate in multiple Agile teams, collaborating with software development, quality assurance, and product management teams.
•\tComplete documentation and localization deliverables on schedule while managing workload across multiple projects.
•\tPrepare infographics, illustrations, and screenshots to effectively communicate product features and workflows.
•\tStyle Guide Adherence: Follow and contribute to the departmental style guide, making recommendations for improvements and implementing changes.
The hourly range for this position is $ $30.48-$38.46. Please note that this compensation information serves as a general guideline. YOU MUST HAVE:
•\t5+ years of experience in technical documentation.
•\tHigh School Diploma
WE VALUE:
•\tBachelor’s Degree in technical writing, communications, engineering, journalism, English, technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
•\tAbility to perform complex tasks with minimal supervision.
•\tA demonstrated commitment to enhancing documentation processes.
•\tEstablish expertise in one or more technical areas, applying advanced knowledge to meet departmental standards and style guidelines.
•\tOnGuard VAR training certification is a plus.
•\tExceptional writing, layout, editing, and organizational skills.
•\tQuick learner of new technologies and software, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
•\tFamiliarity with writing for localization and desktop publishing of localized materials.
•\tExperience with online help systems and delivery tools.
•\tProficient in Adobe FrameMaker, HTML, Microsoft Office, and Adobe applications.
•\tUnderstanding of source control applications, including Perforce.
•\tKnowledge of Agile development tracking software, such as Rally.
•\tFamiliarity with security management systems (e.g., OnGuard, NetBox) and experience in creating hardware documentation.
•\tPreferred certifications include Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC), tekom certification, or related credentials.
