RESPONSIBILITIES
Evaluates ultrasound services and maintains the highest possible standards of quality set forth by the Imaging department and departmental policies and procedures
Supervises and assists in departmental operations on a daily basis
Provides leadership and supports interdepartmental teamwork on a daily basis
Schedules personnel and monitors work schedules to provide adequate coverage on all shifts
Participates in the quality improvement process to improve patient outcomes
Performs a variety of vascular ultrasound procedures
Produces clear and undistorted images as indicates per established protocols
Identifies and visualizes all necessary anatomy, measurements, and correctly labels structures
Documents patient information, test results, and measurements accurately
Recognizes normal and abnormal vascular anatomy and physiology and reports critical values and abnormal findings per establishes policy and procedures
Utilizes 2 dimensional, M-Mode, color flow and Doppler imaging techniques when indicated
Abnormal patient findings are immediately reported to physician
Assures correct patient information on requests and reports
Monitors equipment and department supplies
Organizes work area and maintains supplies
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Graduate of an accredited program for Ultrasonography
Active member of the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) with RVT certification or ICAVL accredited
Minimum (3) years of experience as an ultrasonographer and (2) years of supervisory experience preferred
Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider required
Strong proficiency in computer based programs such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to work well with other team members and consultants in remote offices as well as independently.
Willingness to be flexible and adaptable in a complex, matrix environment

JOB SUMMARY
Provides technical assistance and direction to technical staff personnel in a positive and professional manner. Participates on performance/process improvement groups as needed. Operates Ultrasound equipment to perform a variety of vascular imaging procedures as indicated by physician orders and protocols. Maintains quality assurance logs, updates policies and procedures, and maintains requirements as indicated for IAC and ACR accreditations. Attends to direct and indirect patient care needs to ensure successful completion of requested imaging procedures.
