Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._ **Responsibilities:** General Purpose: The User Experience Researcher gathers insights to understand user behaviors, needs, and preferences. The ideal candidate has a strong background in conducting UX research and user testing within a variety product lifecycles. The candidate should also have excellent communication skills, and a passion for engaging professionals interested in data. The UE Researcher works on assigned projects and with functional areas under the direction of the Associate Director User Experience, Enterprise Data and Analytics. The position works in collaboration with data customers (clinical, financial, operations), EDW/Agile project teams, Business Intelligence Analysts, SME’s, Associate Directors, and Project Managers. Studies user's feeling and experience when using organization products and makes improvements according to research and feedback. Collaborates with a team of designers, researchers and engineers, brainstorming concepts from a customer's viewpoint. Leads or participates in user research for refinement of ideas and concepts. Stays informed on technology and research on customer preferences, identifying opportunities to apply new technologies and interaction patterns to customer problems. Identifies customer user profiles and UE needs through customer visits and lab testing and leads structured task analyses. Conducts surveys of customer satisfaction with user interfaces. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** + Creates comprehensive, well-structured, and documented processes for user research. Designs user research plans to gather qualitative and quantitative data through multiple methods such as user observations, interviews, surveys, and usability tests. Develops actionable and targeted user research plans aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives. Utilizes UE research methods, such as remote/moderated, task analysis, surveys, persona-building, and journey mapping. Responds to project-based requests by generating all necessary content related to planning user research. Actively collaborates with UE director, product owner, Agile/project team members, and SMEs to identify knowledge gaps and determine needs to facilitate the design and execution of user research plans. Ensures user research projects meet schedule and budget requirements. + Conducts user research sessions and interviews to gain a clear understanding of how our users interact with our products – resulting in more informed and sustainable products for EDA development teams. Facilitates user research of data and analytic product designs and features. Employs methods such as interviews, user observations, usability tests, and surveys. Listens to our users, talks to them, goes into their offices (or remotely via Zoom), and observes how they use our products. Conducts discovery (includes surveys). Gains empathy for the customer experience to inform direction of product development. + Analyzes user data. Discovers the underlying behaviors, motivations, goals, and frustrations users experience when making decisions based on the information presented in our products. Compiles and presents learnings to the relevant stakeholders in a clear and actionable way. Documents and tracks learnings gathered through testing and research so insights can easily be referenced and applied for future projects. Guides a multidisciplinary team of business intelligence developers, user experience/data visualization designers, clinical experts, training specialists, and prototype developers as they enhance existing designs and innovate new product design. + Collaborates with cross-functional teams. Works closely with product owners, project managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate user research findings into product strategies and roadmaps. Brainstorms with Product Owner and Agile teammates to define project details, such as recruitment strategies, logistics handling, and scheduling participants. Advocates for the user, ensuring that user needs and perspectives are considered throughout the product development lifecycle. + Professional Growth: Actively participates in retrospective events with a continuous improvement mindset. Attends webinars, reads case studies and white papers, and participates in other free or low-cost opportunities to further refine skills and stay apprised on functional area topics. Maintains flexibility and professionalism while managing competing priorities. Other duties as assigned **QUALIFICATIONS** + Bachelor’s degree in related discipline such as Education, Instructional Design, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Information Technology or Engineering required. + Master’s Degree preferred. + 3 years of related experience and support in a project implementation context required. + 1-2 years in a supervisory capacity preferred. + Experience with higher education, larger medical center or large complex and distributed enterprise. Experience working with consulting resources preferred. + or equivalent combination of education and experience required. + Excellent leadership, communication (verbal and written), presentation, analytical and problem solving skills required. + Proven track record executing multiple work streams and producing consistent results required. + Ability to distill technical information into succinct and digestible information for a broad (non-technical) audience required. + Ability to learn new technologies quickly required. + Experience with project management from planning through implementation required. + Extensive computer literacy to include experience in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Teams and PowerPoint).
