Sr. Accountant

The Senior Accountant will support the Fleet accounting team by handling the department's full cycle accounting process. Responsibilities include preparing journal entries for month-end close, providing variance explanations, performing account reconciliations, working with internal and external auditors, and other accounting tasks. The role involves cross-training to ensure departmental backup and collaborating with other finance and CCL business teams. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will participate in project meetings and assist managers and directors with consulting, designing, testing, and implementing accounting projects. This includes contributing to continuous improvements through reporting, automation compliance, and providing strategic insights. The position will address challenges from integrating new IT systems, such as training, security, and workflow disruptions. This role works in conjunction with other teams within CCL Finance, Financial Technology, Shipboard Financial Directors, Fleet Operations, and other departments as necessary.

Essential Functions:

Put together and lead monthly preparation and posting of complex and adjusting journal entries Drive monthly preparation of balance sheet reconciliations Actively participate in Fintech project meetings, implementation of new accounting processes and documentation. Monthly preparation of concessionaire reports, adjustments, reviews, and overall compliance Preparation of ad-hoc reports as required Assist in the creation (or updating) of shore side accounting policies and procedures Monthly variance analysis on relevant balance sheet and income statement accounts Interact with outside financial auditors and respond to requests in a timely manner Perform Onboard Revenue JEA voyage validation/reconciliations  Other related functions and tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field 5+ years of experience as an accountant or comparable experience in related accounting field Corporate Accounting experience preferred Has a CPA or currently in progress for CPA preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Familiarity with a variety of standard concepts, practices and procedures of accounting, Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Excel skills Oracle knowledge preferred Excel, Essbase, Oracle Excellent organization skills, detail oriented, able to multi-task, willingness to adapt to change, meets deadlines, team player

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

The range for this role’s base salary is $65,000 - $90,000.  Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.
