Sr. Accountant
Description We are in the market for a Sr. Accountant to join our team in the heart of Las Vegas, Nevada. This role is centered around the management and accurate record-keeping of fixed assets within our industry. This position is a contract to hire opportunity, with a focus on long-term engagement. Responsibilities: • Maintain comprehensive and detailed records of the company's fixed assets, including buildings, furniture, gaming equipment, and technology. • Regularly conduct audits to verify the existence and value of assets. • Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets in accordance with industry standards. • Track and record all asset disposals in a timely and accurate manner. • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations of the Fixed Asset accounts. • Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations relating to fixed assets. • Collaborate with other departments to provide fixed assets accounting services and necessary information. • Generate and analyze relevant reports to assist in strategic decision making. • Reconcile the balances in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger. • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and documents for managing fixed assets. Requirements • Significant experience in the field of accounting, preferably in a senior role • Proficiency in account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation • Experience in handling bank reconciliations • Familiarity with maintaining and updating the general ledger • Ability to prepare and post journal entries accurately • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and its various functions related to accounting • Experience in conducting month-end close procedures • Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP • Experience in fixed asset accounting, including additions, depreciation, inventory, and maintaining the fixed asset register • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities • High level of integrity and dependability • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required. A master's degree or CPA certification is a plus.
