Sr. Accountant
Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in STATEN ISLAND, New York. The selected candidate will be involved in various aspects of accounting, including account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger management within our organization. Responsibilities: • Efficient and accurate preparation and modification of program budgets. • Timely remittance of fiscal claims for program payments on a monthly/quarterly basis. • Regular monitoring of program expenditures to ensure alignment with budget parameters. • Supervision over grants' balance and the transfer of funding dollars. • Execution of bank transfers, stop payments, and ach direct deposits. • Maintenance of worksheets for the allocation of expenses in line with monthly journal entries and Fund EZ accounts payable shared cost allocation. • Performance of detailed accounts analysis and assistance with all audit processes. • Preparation of Fiscal Board Reports/Financial Statements. • Assistance in the preparation of SSOP. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP software for accounting tasks. This role will require strong skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger maintenance, Journal Entries, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Month-End Close procedures, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP. Requirements • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role is required. • Strong proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations. • Extensive knowledge and experience with General Ledger management and Journal Entries. • Must be skilled in Microsoft Excel and have the ability to use advanced functions. • Experience with Month End Close processes is essential. • Previous experience with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP is highly desirable. • Should have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are necessary. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. • Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. • A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred but not required. • Should have a solid understanding of financial regulations and legislation. • Proven experience in financial reporting is desirable.
