Sr. Accountant
Description We are in the process of recruiting a Sr. Accountant to add to our team based in St. Paul, Minnesota. This role revolves around managing accounting operations and information systems, ensuring they align with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The Sr. Accountant will also take on responsibilities such as preparing financial reports, conducting financial analysis, and continuously updating process documentation. Responsibilities • Oversee daily and month-end accounting operations, ensuring the proper functioning of general ledger, accounts payable functions, and accounting of fixed assets. • Ensure that financial record systems are maintained in compliance with GAAP. • Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness. • Conduct regular monitoring and reconciliation of general ledger accounts. • Assist in the preparation of financial and operating reports on a monthly basis. • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and provide insights to support business decisions. • Gather, collect, and report key statistics through effective utilization of information systems. • Continually update process documentation and assist with or lead process improvement efforts. • Prepare schedules with supporting documentation for annual financial statement audit. • Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, MS Great Plains Accounting, Financial Statement Preparation. The Sr. Accountant will be expected to employ a range of essential skills such as Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, MS Great Plains Accounting, and Financial Statement Preparation. Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role. • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is required. • Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance and Journal Entries is necessary. • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel. • Experience in conducting Month End Close procedures. • Knowledge of MS Great Plains Accounting software would be beneficial. • Must have experience in Financial Statement Preparation.
