We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to join a client in the Holyoke, Massachusetts area. In this role, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, with a focus on maintaining the financial health of the organization. Your duties will include tasks such as account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger management.
Responsibilities:
• Handle account reconciliation duties to ensure accurate record-keeping
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliation to maintain financial accuracy
• Manage bank reconciliations to confirm all transactions align with bank statements
• Oversee general ledger to ensure all entries are accurate and up-to-date
• Prepare and post journal entries to reflect company transactions
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for various financial tasks and reporting
• Conduct month-end close procedures to finalize monthly financial activities
• Perform variance analysis to identify and explain deviations from budgeted figures
• Assist in the annual physical inventory process to ensure accurate inventory records
• Apply standard cost accounting methods to accurately value inventory and cost of goods sold.
Requirements
Requirements:
• Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role
• Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation and Bank Reconciliations is essential
• Solid understanding and experience with General Ledger and Journal Entries
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
• At least 2 years of accounting experience within manufacturing is required
• Experience with Month End Close and Financial Statement Preparation
• Strong skills in Variance Analysis
• Experience with Annual Physical Inventory management
• Knowledge and light experience in Standard Cost Accounting is required
• Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team
• BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
