Sr. Accountant
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Dallas, Texas. The role involves performing full-cycle accounting functions for home building and development projects. As a Sr. Accountant, you will also maintain cash balances, approve bill payments, and ensure timely payment of real estate taxes. This role is critical to our team as you will assist with year-end audits, tax returns, and participate in special projects. Responsibilities: • Execute full-cycle accounting functions for home building and development projects • Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations • Monitor and review receivables and payables • Maintain and review cash balances for assigned entities, submitting funding requests as necessary • Ensure timely payment of real estate taxes and approve bill payments • Complete the monthly construction draw process for assigned development entities • Assist with the month-end financial close process, including reviewing job costs for budget variances, cost code errors, and other posting errors on invoices • Serve as a first-level reviewer for monthly draw reporting packages, monthly financial packets, and other reports • Assist with year-end audits and tax return preparation • Participate in special projects and prepare ad-hoc reports as required. Requirements • Should hold at least a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field • CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory. • Must possess advanced skills in Account Reconciliation • Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation is crucial • Experience with Bank Reconciliations is expected • Familiarity with General Ledger management is necessary • Must be adept at making Journal Entries • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel is required • Experience in handling Month End Close activities is needed • Expertise in using NetSuite software is essential • Knowledge of Oracle systems is required • Must have experience working with SAP software • Prior experience in a similar role is preferred • Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Must be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously • Strong organizational and time management skills are necessary • Must possess a high level of integrity and confidentiality Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
