Sr. Accountant
Description We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. The successful candidate will be an essential part of our finance team, responsible for various finance and accounting functions. This role involves managing and analyzing financial information, maintaining general ledgers, ensuring compliance with GAAP principles, and improving financial procedures. Responsibilities: • Ensuring the accurate processing and reconciliation of general ledger, accounts payable, and receivable. • Analyzing financial information to summarize the financial status and suggesting ways to enhance efficiency and spending. • Reviewing and recommending modifications to the existing accounting systems and procedures. • Providing valuable input into the department's goal-setting process and assisting with external audits to ensure compliance. • Participating in month-end and year-end close processes and ensuring compliance with GAAP principles. • Collaborating with the Assistant Controller/Controller to enhance financial procedures. • Managing end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payroll disbursements. • Utilizing advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables, for efficient data management and analysis. • Ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in all financial operations and leveraging knowledge of NetSuite for efficient financial management. • Reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining the general ledger, and preparing journal entries. Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is required • Demonstrated experience with General Ledger and Journal Entries • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are necessary • Proven experience with Month End Close procedures • Familiarity with NetSuite software is desirable • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP Accounting principles is mandatory • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred • Excellent communication and organizational skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • High attention to detail and accuracy • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously • Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
