Sr. Accountant
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Katy, Texas, United States. This role primarily involves preparing general entries, reconciling financial accounts and statements, and ensuring data accuracy. The Sr. Accountant will also work closely with our Controller and report directly to them. Responsibilities: • Oversee the accuracy of all entries and ensure transactions are reported in accordance with GAAP. • Perform general ledger account reconciliations for all Asset and Liability accounts with supporting information. • Prepare weekly vendor payments and reconcile Bank accounts on a daily basis. • Post journal entries related to accruals, depreciation, and amortization while maintaining fixed assets records. • Prepare and file sales tax in multiple states and jurisdictions. • Review and enter approved T& E reports along with maintaining office supplies. • Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss reports, and other financial statements to review financial status. • Ensure all accounting procedures are adhered to and maintain internal controls. • Communicate and work closely with other departments to ensure smooth operations. • Utilize skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, NetSuite, Tax - Sales & Use. Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Senior Accountant • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is necessary • Familiarity with General Ledger management and Journal Entries is required • Expertise in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and data analysis • Experience in executing Month End Close procedures • Knowledge of NetSuite for accounting operations is preferred • Experience in Tax - Sales & Use is a crucial requirement for this role • Must possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required • Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is preferred • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
