Sr. Accountant
Description We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in the construction industry based in Grand Rapids SE, Michigan. As a Senior Accountant, you will be in a critical role managing multiple accounting functions, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals experienced in accounting, looking to contribute to a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities: • Ensure compliance with GAAP and implement effective internal controls. • Manage cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts. • Lead accounts payable cycle, verifying documents to invoices, and reviewing sales tax charges for accuracy. • Monitor debt levels and ensure compliance with debt covenants. • Manage outsourced functions such as employee issued debit and credit cards, insurance billings, banking ACH and wire transactions. • Ensure all General Ledger accounts are reconciled and manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules. • Assist with the preparation of accurate monthly financial statements and other metrics. • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management. • Assist with managing all insurance policy renewals. • Participate in the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit and any other financial audit. • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis as needed. • Manage inventory and reconciliation process. • Maintain and refine management cost reports, established rates, overhead, etc. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role as a Sr. Accountant • Proficiency in GAAP Accounting is essential • Experience with Month End Close procedures is required • Capability to conduct Bank Account Reconciliation • Ability to prepare Cash Flow Forecasts • Experience with Fixed Asset Depreciation is necessary • Must be able to prepare Annual Budgets • Proficiency in Ad Hoc Financial Analysis is a must • Proficiency in telecom services industry is preferred • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required • CPA certification is a plus • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
