Sr. Accountant
Description We are looking for a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role is crucial to our operations in the commercial real estate industry where you will work closely with the accounting department to maintain all accounting records and financial reports for various properties and operating entities. Responsibilities: • Manage and maintain accounting records, preparing monthly financial statements for assigned entities. • Oversee accounts receivable collections and accounts payable processing of payments, including initiating bank transfers. • Support timely financial closes on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of all operational reserve accounts. • Carry out general ledger account reconciliations and analysis for various entities, investigating, reporting, and correcting any account discrepancies. • Identify and contribute to the resolution of issues in the financial accounting area, such as allocation methodology or accruals. • Assist in the review of all monthly and annually required General Excise Tax filings. • Support year-end closing and tax preparation for all entities, including preparation of 1099 forms. • Contribute to loan reporting and compliance as needed. • Assist in the annual budget review process. • Contribute to the development and documentation of internal control policies and procedures. • Contribute to overall success by accepting new assignments, helping team members, learning new skills, and striving to improve team and organization results. Requirements • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations • Solid understanding and experience with General Ledger and Journal Entries • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel • Demonstrated experience with Month End Close processes • Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong written and oral communication skills • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively • High level of accuracy and attention to detail • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity • Respect for confidentiality and discretion.
