Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity in the Government industry, located in Moreno Valley, California, United States. The role is of a Sr. Accountant and will involve handling a variety of accounting tasks, including governmental and grant accounting, as well as bank reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
• Conducting bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy
• Handling grant accounting processes to track and manage funds
• Performing governmental accounting, adhering to specific industry regulations and standards
• Reviewing and managing journal entries for financial clarity and accuracy
• Utilizing Microsoft Excel for various accounting functions
• Carrying out the month-end close processes for financial reporting
• Performing account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
• Managing balance sheet reconciliations to maintain or improve financial status
• Working with New World Systems for efficient accounting operations Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role within the Government sector
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations
• Demonstrated experience with General Ledger management and Journal Entries
• Skilled in using Microsoft Excel for accounting and financial tasks
• Experience with Month End Close procedures
• Knowledge of Governmental accounting principles, regulations, and practices
• Experience in Grant Accounting, including compliance with federal and state regulations
• Proficiency in using New World Systems for accounting and financial management
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar accounting certification is preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously under deadline pressure
• Exceptional focus on detail and accuracy
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and other applicable regulatory rules, regulations and requirements
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
