Sr. Accountant
Description We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage and oversee essential financial operations and reporting tasks. This role is ideal for an experienced detail oriented who thrives on maintaining accuracy, streamlining processes, and collaborating on financial strategies. Essential Job Functions: Cash Management: Receive, deposit, and distribute funds in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and internal policies. Tax Collection & Reconciliation: Prepare tax rolls, distribute tax statements, manage computerized tax collection systems, reconcile revenue, and process settlements for real estate and personal property taxes. Financial System Oversight: Plan, organize, and manage automated financial accounting systems, including cash collections, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and budgeting. Bank Reconciliations: Regularly reconcile all bank accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance. Financial Reporting: Compile monthly financial reports for internal review and external compliance, and provide additional reports as required. Investment Management: Monitor investment accounts, report on fund performance, and implement approved financial strategies. Collaboration with External Entities: Coordinate with auditors, financial services, and title companies for audits, borrowing, debt service, and financial assessments. Grant and Funding Support: Assist in grant application processes and provide financial insights to support funding initiatives. Budget Coordination: Lead the development and monitoring of annual budgets, analyze financial trends, and implement approved fund transfers to maintain fiscal health. Capital and Project Budgets: Participate in the creation and management of long-term capital plans, project budgets, and equipment replacement fund reports. Utility Financial Management: Review utility rates, analyze return on investment, and prepare recommendations to optimize financial health. Special Financial Activities: Assist with processes like monthly invoicing, end-of-year settlements, and financial compliance for specific programs or services. Qualifications: Strong expertise in financial reporting, tax reconciliation, and budget management. Proficiency in automated accounting systems and financial software. Analytical skills to evaluate financial trends and prepare actionable recommendations. Collaborative mindset with the ability to work with external auditors and financial services.
