Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Downers Grove, Illinois. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be actively involved in managing financial processes, ensuring compliance, and supporting our organizational objectives. Responsibilities: • Oversee daily treasury operations, such as wire preparation, check voiding, and check reissues. • Utilize automated systems to manage cash-related transactions and streamline treasury functions. • Prepare, review, and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness. • Assist in monitoring cash flow activity and provide insights to support liquidity management. • Perform periodic reviews of cash activity to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently. • Collaborate with stakeholders to verify debt balances and reconcile loan accounts as part of the month-end close process. • Maintain and update debt roll forwards, ensuring all transactions and amortization are accurately recorded and aligned with reporting needs. • Handle standard journal entries related to cash accounting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. • Support audits by providing detailed schedules and responding to inquiries related to debt balances. • Maintain debt schedules and record standard journal entries based on already-developed amortization schedules. Requirements • Candidate must hold a minimum of 7 years of experience in an accounting role. • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation is required. • Demonstrable skills in Balance Sheet Reconciliation are essential. • Prior experience with Bank Reconciliations is needed. • A strong understanding of General Ledger is mandatory. • Ability to handle Journal Entries with accuracy and efficiency is expected. • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is necessary. • Experience with Month End Close processes is a prerequisite. • Familiarity with D365 software is a must.
