Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Saint Croix Falls, Wisconsin. This role is within the industry and will involve key tasks such as general accounting, financial reporting, job costing, revenue recognition, budgeting and forecasting, compliance and audits, and process improvements. Responsibilities: • Ensuring the accuracy of monthly financial statements and their adherence to GAAP. • Overseeing the reconciliation of general ledger accounts to guarantee the integrity of financial data. • Evaluating, tracking, and reporting job-specific costs to ensure accurate expense allocation. • Working closely with project managers to analyze profitability and identify cost efficiency opportunities. • Implementing and refining job costing systems to align with operational needs. • Reviewing contracts and transactions for proper revenue recognition compliance with ASC 606. • Preparing revenue schedules and adjusting journal entries as required to record deferred or accrued revenue. • Providing guidance on revenue recognition policies to ensure alignment with corporate and regulatory standards. • Collaborating with department heads to develop annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts. • Comparing actual results against budgets and preparing variance analysis reports. • Supporting annual financial audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries. • Ensuring compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulations. • Identifying opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and improve accuracy and efficiency of processes. *Please note that all candidates are required to provide 2 recent supervisor or manager references in order to be considered for employment. Requirements • Possess strong skills in Account Reconciliation, ensuring all accounting details are accurate and up-to-date. • Proficient in Balance Sheet Reconciliation, ensuring all financial statements are in order. • Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations to validate company's financial records. • Solid understanding and experience in managing General Ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. • Capable of creating and reviewing Journal Entries to maintain financial information. • Proficient in Microsoft Excel for creating spreadsheets, charts, and complex financial models. • Experience in conducting Month End Close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. • Knowledge of ASC 606 and its application in recognizing revenue from contracts with customers.
