Description We are in the process of recruiting a Sr. Accountant to be a part of our team based in WHITE PLAINS, New York. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be involved in the day-to-day accounting operations and monthly closing procedures. You will also be expected to prepare complex journal entries, scrutinize financial statements monthly, and create internal reports for leadership. Responsibilities • Oversee the monthly closing tasks and ensure their timely completion • Support in the execution, monitoring, and finalization of SOX tasks on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis • Engage in daily accounting operations and be a key part of the monthly closing process • Compile complex journal entries as per the requirement • Scrutinize the monthly financial statements for any inconsistencies or errors • Develop and review internal reports for the leadership on a monthly basis • Apply critical thinking to suggest, execute, and document process enhancements for better efficiency and SOX compliance • Regularly communicate with the team about new processes for smoother learning and implementation • Take the initiative in improving accounting control procedures and processes. Requirements • Applicant must hold a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role as a Sr. Accountant. • Proficiency in performing Month End Close procedures is a must. • Demonstrated ability to create and manage Journal Entries is essential. • Experience in Journal Entry Preparation is required. • Familiarity with Month-end Journal Entries is needed. • Ability to handle Monthly Journal Entries is a must. • Experience in Management Reporting is required. • Proven track record of implementing Process Improvement strategies is necessary. • Previous involvement in Process Improvement Initiatives is essential.
