Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity in Little Rock, Arkansas for a Sr. Accountant in the financial services sector. The chosen candidate will be a vital part of our corporate finance department, reporting directly to the Director of Accounting. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be heavily involved in the financial, regulatory, and general accounting and reporting processes.
The salary range will be $75,000 - $85,000 DOE!

Responsibilities:
• Oversee the company's bond and investment portfolio.
• Ensure securities and cash accounts are accurately balanced.
• Conduct month-end journal entries and upkeep of the general ledger.
• Account reconciliation tasks.
• Contribute to the preparation of regulatory filings.
• Support the annual financial statement audit process.
• Contribute to budgeting procedures.
• Undertake special analytical projects as necessary.
• Apply knowledge of GAAP in all accounting activities.
• Participate in month end close activities.
Requirements • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of five years of progressive experience in accounting is necessary.
• Advanced proficiency in Month End Close procedures is required.
• A strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is necessary.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
• Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly strong proficiency in Excel is needed.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to handle complex data is required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary.
• The ability to work independently, manage large, complex projects, and meet deadlines is required.
• High levels of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information are necessary.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills are required.
• Experience in the preparation of financial reports and statements is necessary.
• A strong work ethic, team-oriented attitude, and an interest in opportunities for growth are required.
