Sr. Accountant
Description Shantel Poole with Robert Half has an exciting opportunity in the financial industry. I am seeking a Sr. Accountant to join my client's team in a workspace that fosters growth and learning. This role is essential for maintaining financial procedures and ensuring that our financial operations run smoothly. Responsibilities: • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department. • Accurately process financial transactions related to accounts payable and receivable. • Utilize spreadsheet software to create spreadsheets and report on financial results. • Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met. • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles. • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements. • Coordinate and complete annual audits. • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions. • Meet financial accounting objectives. • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities. If interested in this role, please reach out to Shantel Poole via LinkedIn or by telephone at 916-649-0832 Requirements • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required. • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar accounting role is necessary. • Proficiency in Excel is mandatory. • Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is needed. • Experience in preparing financial statements and reports is required. • A strong understanding of tax codes and laws is expected. • Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data are needed. • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly is required. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy is expected. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. • Strong organizational skills and capability to manage time effectively are required. • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred. • Experience with accounting software and databases is necessary. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team is required. • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency is expected.
