Description
We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to join our team in the project industry. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, the Sr. Accountant will be instrumental in managing and executing our accounting operations, ensuring the integrity of our financial records and statements. This role is integral to our team, with responsibilities that span across general accounting activities, auditing support, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Engage in general accounting tasks such as the creation, maintenance, and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements
• Analyze and report accounting transactions, ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles
• Examine and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to reporting and procedural standards
• Guarantee appropriate revenue recognition in accordance with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Conduct general ledger accounting functions and review general ledger account reconciliations
• Support both external and internal audits and meet due diligence requirements
• Assist in identifying areas for cost-effectiveness or efficiency improvements and detect problems with waste, fraud, and abuse
• Perform reconciliations and analysis for assigned balance sheet accounts
• Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings
• Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements for external reporting
• Support with the preparation of internal management reporting and respond to other ad hoc reporting requests
• Execute moderately complex accounting activities
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations
• Provide support for various audits as they relate to assigned general ledger accounts
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
Requirements • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation.
• Ability to conduct Balance Sheet Reconciliation.
• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations.
• Knowledge of General Ledger management.
• Ability to create and manage Journal Entries.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience in Month End Close procedures.
• Familiarity with Oracle or similar accounting software.
