Sr. Accountant
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in Houston, Texas for a Senior SEC Reporting Accountant. The role is primarily focused on assisting in the preparation and filing of external financial reports, maintaining accounting policies, and analyzing emerging U.S. GAAP and SEC accounting and reporting requirements. The job function is in the industry of financial services. Responsibilities: • Assist in the preparation and filing of Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K with the SEC and other financial institutions. • Aid in the preparation and submission of required financial statements for banking institutions. • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the company's financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting standards. • Prepare the quarterly and annual SEC and other statutory reporting items with appropriate calendar, coordinating with various departments. • Stay updated on all U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements and proactively analyze emerging accounting and reporting trends. • Assist with accounting for complex technical accounting matters, including carrying out research and documentation for a variety of complete and non-standard transactions. • Work continuously to enhance and streamline reporting processes and controls. • Complete tie-out and support binders for all public filings. • Coordinate with both internal and external auditors and partner with other teams on special projects and ad-hoc requests. Requirements • Job Title: Sr. Accountant • A minimum of 7 years' experience in a related accounting role • Must have strong proficiency in Month-End Close procedures • Proficient in preparing and analyzing Consolidated Financial Statements • Extensive experience with SEC Reporting • Prior experience in Public Accounting Audit • Familiarity with External Audit procedures • Detailed understanding and experience of Footnote Disclosures • Experience with Stock Compensation accounting • Deep understanding of Leases and ASC 842 • Proficient in ASC 606 Revenue Recognition standards Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
