Description We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to join our team, located in North Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including processing customer applications, maintaining customer records, and handling customer inquiries. You will also have the responsibility of monitoring customer accounts and taking necessary actions. Responsibilities: • Accurately and efficiently processing customer credit applications • Maintaining precise records of customer credit • Analyzing, calculating, and filing state and local sales and use tax returns • Reviewing and submitting payment details for monthly sales representative commissions and reporting commission details to sales representatives • Collecting payroll details, uploading/inputting them into the third-party processor’s portal, and ensuring payment • Documenting details of payroll and creating related payroll journal entries • Determining 401(k) details and submitting them via the third-party processor’s portal • Assisting new employees during the onboarding process • Reviewing workers compensation claim reports and submitting them for processing • Reviewing payment requests from freight vendors and coordinating with third party freight processor and warehouse personnel to provide required payments to Accounts Payable • Compiling and submitting 1099’s to IRS and continuously seeking opportunities to generate efficiencies • Performing other general accounting duties as assigned This role offers medical, dental, vision and 401K Requirements • Applicant must hold a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role as a Sr. Accountant. • Proficiency in account reconciliation is a necessity for this position. • Must possess skills in balance sheet reconciliation. • Capability to perform bank reconciliations effectively. • The candidate should have a solid understanding of general ledger procedures. • Experience with journal entries is required. • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel. • Experience in month end close procedures is required. • Knowledge and understanding of NetSuite software is desirable. • Familiarity with Oracle systems is a must. • Experience with SAP is an added advantage.
