Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Chesapeake, Virginia, United States. The selected candidate will join a team in a detail-oriented setting, contributing to a wide range of accounting areas. Responsibilities: • Handle the preparation of complex journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy at all times. • Collaboratively work with accounting team members, striving for the completeness and accuracy of financial data. • Assist with the execution of external audits, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. • Engage in business transformation projects, actively contributing to the streamlining and improvement of financial close processes. • Continuously analyze and assess the current automation of the accounting process, presenting suggestions for improvements when necessary. • Actively participate in the research of monthly variances and ad hoc projects in conjunction with the FP& A team. • Proactively assist with ad-hoc analysis and special projects as requested, engaging in various department-wide initiatives. • Foster cross-functional relationships with other departments, working together to improve efficiencies in the accounting function. Skills: • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations. • Strong knowledge of the General Ledger and Journal Entries. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Month End Close.
