Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in CINCINNATI, Ohio, 45202-3312, United States. In the insurance industry, the role entails comprehensive financial accounting and investment accounting, reporting, and analysis. The position involves the regular preparation of journal entries to accurately record financial transactions.
Responsibilities:
• Efficiently prepare complex general ledger accounting entries for both life insurance subsidiaries and non-life entities, on both a statutory and GAAP basis.
• Execute regular bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
• Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy in financial records.
• Prepare financial analysis and present the results to departmental and shared service leadership.
• Act as a subject matter expert on technical accounting matters and participate as a team leader or member on special projects.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliation to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
• Utilize software tools such as Microsoft Excel, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP for various accounting tasks.
• Lead the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Participate in investment banking activities and perform financial analysis and modeling for investments.
• Work with minimal supervision, making an established range of decisions and escalating to management when necessary. Requirements • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accountant, preferably in the Insurance - Life industry
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations
• Solid understanding of General Ledger management and Journal Entries
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial data analysis and reporting
• Demonstrated experience in Month End Close procedures
• Practical knowledge of NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP accounting software
• Previous experience in Investment Banking is a plus
• Ability to perform Investment Financial Analysis and Investment Financial Modeling
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar qualification is preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
