Description We are seeking a Senior Accountant for our client in the Pineville area. This role will be responsible for managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and overseeing the accuracy of financial transactions. This role involves preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, and supporting audits and tax compliance. The Senior Accountant also provides guidance to entry level accounting staff and assists in improving financial processes. Key Responsibilities: 1. Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports. Ensure financial records comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Assist in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting. Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and variances. 2. General Accounting & Reconciliation: Oversee general ledger activities and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions. Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules. Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes. 3. Compliance & Taxation: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations. Prepare and review tax returns, financial reports, and other regulatory filings. Assist in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support. 4. Process Improvement & Internal Controls: Implement and maintain strong internal controls to prevent fraud and errors. Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Support automation initiatives and system upgrades in the accounting function. 5. Team Leadership & Collaboration: Provide mentorship and guidance to entry level accountants and accounting clerks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and management. Communicate financial insights and recommendations to senior management. Requirements Qualifications & Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred). Minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles. Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and relevant accounting principles. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
