Sr. Accountant
Description Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a 4-month engagement with the potential to extend. This role will focus on supporting month-end close activities, general accounting tasks, and internal controls. Key Responsibilities: Execute month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and processing accruals. Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of the general ledger. Collaborate with business contacts to address and resolve accounting issues. Support internal control procedures through lookback testing and control testing, such as ensuring invoices are posted in the correct period. Review journal entries and account reconciliations completed by other teams, assisting in audit-style evaluations with a focus on compliance and accuracy. Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Proven experience in general accounting, preferably with month-end close exposure. Strong knowledge of GAAP principles. Background in audit or experience supporting internal controls is a strong plus. Ability to perform reviews of journal entries and reconciliations, with an eye for detail and accuracy. Experience working with large ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle cyclical workloads. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation is required. • Must possess skills in Balance Sheet Reconciliation. • Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations effectively is necessary. • Must have a solid understanding of General Ledger. • Experience in creating and managing Journal Entries is required. • Must be capable of handling Month End Close tasks. • Knowledge of SAP software is a prerequisite. • Familiarity with GAAP Accounting principles is essential. • Experience in Corporate Internal Audit is a significant plus.
