Description Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is recruiting to fill a Senior Accountant role for a growing family office located in Minden, Nevada. This role is five days a week on site in their office. The position is a full cycle accounting role with responsibilities for multiple entities. Day to day it would involve GL postings, month end company closings, bank reconciliation, light accounts payable, light payroll, quarterly/annual tax filings, workers compensation & insurance audits, general office tasks as part of the staff team. The administration, accounts payable and payroll is less than 5% of the job. The payroll in on ADP. This person would also handle the cash management for multiple businesses and about 100 bank accounts.
This role requires as BS Degree in Accounting, and at least 5 years of accounting work experience. The person in this role has to have strong verbal and written communication skills, because there is regular communication with partners of operating businesses. In addition, it's critical that the Senior Accountant have a high level of organizational skills, detail orientation, and the flexibility and ability to transition to other projects as requested. The office supports the finances, accounting, and tax filing for multiple family-owned businesses & family trusts.

• Proficiency in account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation
• Demonstrated ability in performing bank reconciliations
• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with general ledger
• Ability to prepare and adjust journal entries
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience in month-end close procedures
• Skilled in preparation of financial statements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA or advanced degree preferred)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Knowledge of accounting software and applications
• Understanding of accounting principles and regulations
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information discretely
• Willingness to stay updated with industry trends and developments
