Description Our client is offering a contract employment opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join their amazing team in Nashville, Tennessee. As a Senior Accountant, you will be essential in supporting our team with various accounting tasks such as reconciliation and month-end support. This role requires onsite presence for the first few weeks, with the flexibility to work remotely three days a week thereafter. Responsibilities: • Perform balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial statements • Collaborate with the team to support month-end closing processes • Conduct reconciliation of general ledger accounts to maintain accurate records • Execute bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial data • Utilize Excel for data management tasks including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions • Leverage Access to streamline accounting processes and maintain accurate records • Prepare and post journal entries as part of the month-end close process • Ensure accuracy in account reconciliations and take corrective actions where necessary. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. • Proven experience as a Sr. Accountant or in a similar role. • Proficiency in using Excel and Access. • Demonstrated ability to perform balance sheet reconciliations. • Experience with bank reconciliations. • In-depth knowledge of the general ledger. • Familiarity with creating and posting journal entries. • Ability to handle month-end close processes. • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. • Excellent problem-solving skills. • Good communication and team management skills. • CPA certification is preferred but not required. • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. • Willingness to continuously improve and learn new skills.
