Description We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the Food & Food Processing industry. The selected candidate will join our team in San Pedro, California, and will play a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of our operations.
Responsibilities:
• Overseeing the implementation of the ERP system
• Preparing, analyzing, and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Managing and reconciling general ledger accounts, posting journal entries, and executing month-end and year-end closings
• Supervising accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate processing of invoices, payments, and customer collections
• Collaborating with department heads to develop annual budgets and forecasts, and monitoring actual performance against budgeted targets
• Tracking and managing the company's fixed assets, calculating depreciation, and ensuring accurate reporting
• Providing insightful financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and identify areas for cost savings or revenue enhancement
• Working closely with external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely completion of tax returns and compliance with relevant tax regulations
• Assisting in both internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations as necessary
• Continuously identifying opportunities to enhance financial processes, systems, and controls to increase efficiency and accuracy
• Utilizing Great Plains software to manage financial data, generate reports, and streamline accounting processes Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the Food & Food Processing industry
• Proficient in Microsoft Great Plains Accounting
• Strong experience with both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proven ability in Financial Reporting
• Experience with General Ledger management
• Familiarity with Budgeting and Forecasting processes
• Experience with Fixed Asset Management
• Knowledge of Income Tax Compliance
• Proficiency in QuickBooks
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel
• Solid understanding of GAAP Accounting
