Description
Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting for a strong a Senior Merchandise Accountant to support our client on a 4–6-month hybrid (primarily remote) engagement beginning immediately. The Sr. Accountant will help with various critical operations including, period-end close, reporting and analysis, audit support, forecasting of fixed expenses and assist with event settlements, recording and analysis. The ideal Sr. Accountant will thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a strong accounting background, strong communication skills and be very well organized.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure timely completion of the monthly close responsibilities for Inventory and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)
• Collaborate with the Merchandise and Events teams to accurately account for all COGS and Inventory for each project
• Develop settlements and monitor all costs at a detailed level with third-party merchandise partners
• Perform reconciliation of the company's ERP with 3rd party merchandise partners
• Oversee month-end close tasks as defined by management, including the preparation of journal entries in accordance with GAAP and SOX requirements
• Contribute to special projects as assigned, including the implementation of new initiatives
• Maintain and reconcile account balances and bank statements
• Utilize Microsoft Excel and Google Docs for various tasks and reporting
• Handle General Ledger operations and balance sheet reconciliations.
Requirements • Applicant must possess a minimum of 5 years experience in a senior accounting role.
• Proficiency in account reconciliation is essential.
• Competency in balance sheet reconciliation is required.
• Experience in bank reconciliations is mandatory.
• Applicant should be adept at maintaining the general ledger.
• Ability to process journal entries is needed.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a requirement.
• Experience in month end close procedures is important.
• Knowledge of Oracle software is necessary.
• Understanding of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) is required.
• Familiarity with inventory accounting is essential.
• Ability to use Google Docs is a plus.
